From Canada to Beskidy

I am learning about my Beskidy heritage. I discovered this forum while "surfing" the net about all things Polska.

My name is Shelah. I live in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. My Polish family came from Ujsoly, Radziechowy and possibly Rozcyny or Rosina.

I am sorry to say that I cannot understand Polish. Sad

I would be happy if you practice your English with me. Smile

Soon I hope to visit the Beskidy region and explore my family history and experience the culture and traditions.

Please, what can you tell me and show me about your beautiful region, the culture and traditions, the people, the art and the artists, and especially the villages of Ujsoly and Radziechowy?

Myśle, że na początek może wejśc na kilka stron internetowych gdzie poczyta i zobaczy na zdjęciach co to za kraina. A że trzeba pokazać te piękniejsze strony to;

Oni są ogromnym źródłem wiedzy o regionie, jego kulturze, obyczajach, ludności. Posiadają sporo własnych wydawnictw. Po prostu zbiornica wiedzy, która byłby dla niej najlepszym wyjściem.
Jeżeli będzie chciała konkretnie wiedzieć co jej proponuję do zwiedzenia to napisz. Jest z czego wybierać.

I visited all of the Zywiec town and village websites before registering on your forum. . .and I still visit them often, especially the English pages which have good information. And of course all of gallery pages are very helpful because, as they say, "a picture is worth a thousand words". Very Happy

I have visited the websites for the Folk Music bands. . .very good! The traditional songs of Roztoka are exactly like the songs my babcia sang and danced for me when I was a child. But the music of Walasi is amazing and very mystical. Now I want their CD!

1.If you have more pictures of Ujsoly, Radziechowy or Roczyny, I would like to see them, please. Especially the R.C. churches, the cemeteries, the main street(s), the surrounding countrysides.

2.Is it easy to rent a car and drive in Beskidy region?

3.What would be the most authentic experience, staying in a agro-tourism home? Staying in a monastery or cloister? Staying in a hotel? Pros and Cons please.
